Welcome to Tumblers Gymnastics!
We are a gymnastics club based in Martensville, Saskatchewan. We provide quality recreational gymnastics instruction. Along with our first and foremost goal of having FUN, we are dedicated to developing the overall Fitness of our participants while teaching the Fundamentals of the gymnastics sport.
Tumblers Gymnastics Club is a for profit gymnastics club whose mission is to offer family friendly gymnastics programs for the community of Martensville and surrounding area. We provide an atmosphere of equal opportunity to create a personal fitness experience that encourages personal growth in health and fitness while maintaining a fun and challenging environment.
Tumblers Gymnastics will provide access to all members of the community. We demonstrate this vision through valuing and respecting each individual member by encouraging personal growth & discovery, learning and support through the achievement of goals.
Tumblers Gymnastics maximizes the potential of each individual that comes through the door. We want to create an inclusive, caring and supportive sense of community. Tumblers Gymnastics will foster and encourage the pursuit of excellence in gymnastics, sport management, and program delivery.
MARK KURMEY (HEAD COACH)
Mark has been involved in gymnastics for 25+ years. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the club. He has been training trampoline and artistic gymnasts at a provincial and national level for the past 10 years. Mark is also a Learning Facilitator for the National Coaching Certification Program and has trained 100’s of gymnastics coaches. His enthusiasm, positivity and focus on safety are just some of the qualities that he brings to the gym.
Johanna Clancy B. Ed, B. Sc., M. Sc.
(Recreational, Active Start & Special Olympic Coach
Johanna has been involved with Tumblers Gymnastics since September 2015. She is certified as a Coach with the Special Olympics of Canada. Johanna has over 30 years of dance training in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Musical Theatre and Irish dance. She has over 15 years of teaching and choreography experience with Rhythm Works Dance Studio, Marian Gymnastics, Choraliers Children's Choir and the University of Saskatchewan Drama Department. She has trained and performed with Brenda's School of Baton and Dance, Select Reflections Dance Troupe, Saskatoon School of Irish Dance, and Dance Saskatchewan. Johanna is also a certified Kindermusik Educator teaching with Kari and friends. When she is not dancing, she is teaching preschool, making music, and being mom to two young boys.
McKenzie Virostek (Recreational Coach)
McKenzie graduated from Warman High School in 2016. She has been coaching with Tumblers Gymnastics for 2 years and has Gymnastics Foundations, Active Start and Trampoline training. McKenzie wants to spend the new year travelling South America helping in the poor and disadvantaged communities.
Lori Morphy B.Sc Kin, MA Physical Education
Lori has extensive background working with people with both physical and cognitive disabilities, acquired brain injury and developmental challenges. She currently teaches the Special Olympic Classes at Tumblers and Rhythmic Gymnastics classes through the City of Martensville Department of Recreation and Prairie Ribbons Rhythmic Gymnastics Club in Warman/Saskatoon. She has a wealth of knowledge in Adapted Physical Activity, working with individuals of all ages and abilities, including those with special needs.
